World of Warcraft Drama

So out of boredom, i finally took the plunge about two weeks ago. Played the trial.

It's surprisingly fun for a MMO game which i have made no secret that i detest the genre. It changes my mind somewhat on the MMO genre, but i doubt all MMOs would be alike. Impressions.. It deserves its title of "best MMO evarrr" by quite a big portion (read: all) of the MMO-playing internet. The worlld of Azeroth is really big, so one would hardly run into people. Solo games, how i like it. :D But looking for groups are easy, i found friends to quest with in a very short time. the fun seems endless... getting drunk, mining for gold and cooking up a storm is just one of the few things that one could do in WoW.

Quite glad i picked it up in the end, it's a great way to spend time. I'll be looking forward to more soon in WotLK.

Post ends here. If anyone's interested, I play on Thaurissan, Alliance. Main's a warrior, and i have 2 alts: a rogue and mage. I won't specify the levels, as they change really really fast. :D

Red Alert 3: First Impressions

Red Alert 3. ROX.

I got my beta at 11:39 am saturday, 2nd august. :D exact date listed. must note the magical moment when the beta came to me forevah. :)

I've been playing it pretty much the whole day, totally stole call of duty's thunder. Just when i bought it too. The game's not just k, its kewl. The three factions are as wild and wacky as ever. i really missed hearing the kirovs at work :D. Although, the game's currently bogged down by some bugs and connection probs; it jerks sometimes when there's a big firefight going on, even though my framerate is a constant 28~30. I understand that its still a work in progress though, so im gonna enjoy it until the actual game ships, at which point i'll proceed to enjoy it more. :D

I re-finished call of duty 4 in single player since my profile data somehow got wiped, and besides, i needed something to do while the beta client downloaded. I dunno if im the only guy on this small country who has the beta, i suppose so, because some of my other pals who're great C&C fans haven't gotten theirs yet..

Oh well.. im off for a bit more RA3 before bed... nights then.

Posts getting shorter and shorter. :P Anyway.. school finally ending soon, I always come out of every semester hating it. This one was frickin bad. 4 simultaneous assignments... how the hell am i supposed to deliver good stuff on every one when all 4 demand my attention at once... =_= Headache.

Avatar's finished though, a week or two ago. Epic finale. :D Speaking of epic finales, Doctor Who also ended it's fourth season not too long ago as well. Nice epic story. epic epic epic.

Diablo 3 Announced

You heard it here, right from the floor, as it's announced, Diablo 3 is coming to the PC at an as-yet unannounced time. Announced by a man playing the theme on acoustic guitar, a man with a marvellous beard, no less.

From the trailer:

"It has been said that in the end of all things, we would find a new beginning. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind, the people pray for strength and guidance. They should pray for the mercy of a swift death. For I have seen what the darkness hides."

To put it bluntly, we're very excited.

More on it as the event progresses...

- Improvements involve a new hotbar, along with quick-swapping of abilities and the ability to - apparently - play with just the mouse.
- It looks absolutely gorgeous, with huge hordes of enemies and destroyable walls and environmental items.
- You can pick up items that instantly replenish your health, like in Devil May Cry 4.
- Fully 3D graphics, as you'd expect. Gritty, dark, and colourful.
- You can smash walls to make them fall down on enemies. Hot damn!
- New Witchdoctor class, using ancient tribal magic, mind-control and pets.

"Get Smart" as a movie does it quite well in my opinion. Besides some of the new stuff, plenty of old jokes from the original TV series are included in as well. I had a pretty good laugh and watched the movie again quite willingly in fact.

Read about two or three chapters of Mass Effect: Revelation, and so far it's pretty okay. I have also been reading the book of gaming records. also a interesting read.

gmod was fixed quite fast, so im very happy for that. :D

meh i think that's it for this short short post. I'm going to:

or b) stare at my screen thinking of stuff to do.

Well now, nearly finished mass effect (or at least i think i'm nearly finishing it). The story's great so far.

turns out im not going to malaysia after all. Yay. that's GOOD really because i'm a bit tired of going up there almost every holiday.

Anyway, GV (the cinema chain) called me a few days back to tell me i had won a boat trip. wtf?!!? for 12 persons this sunday at sentosa from 9-1 apparently. I declined it as i thought our plans to go to malaysia still stood. DAMN. Anyway they're sending some stuff to make up for it, so i'm actually a bit curious to know what it is.

In other news, I CANT PLAY GMOD OH NOES. Apparently valve's latest update for the source engine (for the particle shaders) broke the game. It keeps crashing with the same dump details. oh well, hope that garry and valve works fast enough to get a hotfix out. life without gmod is a bit.... dull.

I guess i can crack open those books i've been saving then.

Just the Doctor?

I've recently discovered Doctor Who, and I must say I am addicted. The show's pretty awesome, and has some very well written stories. a pity it isnt being shown on singaporean TV.

anyway i'm going to malaysia (again, I KNOW!). I can't imagine why we keep going there during the holiday period, maybe because its like, so nearby. =_=..

my date of departure should be confirmed tomorrow (or later today, its almost 2 am) and i will be entirely off-the-grid for the length of the trip. NO CONTACT AT ALL. no roaming. and i dont think i can bring my laptop along, it isnt exactly "travel friendly"; it's a battery consuming beast.

SO, i bought BOOKS. Yes my latest acquisitions to my small library. Deception point, read it once, and bought it to read again. Goetia, second hellgate book, currently in gabe's hands which i will relieve him of when we go to watch "get smart" next thursday. "revelation" from the mass effect universe, and the guiness book of records: gamer's edition. i've only finished deception point, saving the other two i have on hand now for the trip.

"Get Smart". thats the movie of the old 60's tv series about comedic espionage. trailer was pretty funny, and i've had some previous knowledge of the "shoe phone" man, so meh. :D

Well thats all for now, i should update at a later date before the trip. about that mass effect review, im postponing it for the new term when school begins again.

PS EDIT: OH YEAH i forgot to mention: the next two episodes of avatar have finally been released! i watched them already of course and i would just say: i wasnt expecting that story twist. moar next time then.

Hi neglected souls!

Havent posted for so long. might have thought i was dead. :D

Went to see Indiana Jones today... not a bad show.. but the ending..? Simply wtf. I don't think it fits at all.

Few days ago helped louis perform surgery on gabe's pc.. now everything successfully installed.. though i declined to go and install the new mobo. :P It's a pretty darn good pc now from what i heard. yays to him then.

TF2 wise, nothing new on the side. Got my ubersaw in about 2 weeks and its not bad. Now halfway thru the league. first win for my clan. >:D yes we sucked. xD

Anyway, i've recently been spending more time in gmod again. playing prop hunt and constructing, engineering more contraptions. I now have a lift that can stop on 6 floors and will respond to commands sent to it. :D built entirely on my own.. here's some pics.

So goldrush came out 2 days ago. And i didn't have my laptop, so i had a lot of catching up to do... on my way to unlocking all the shite.

Goldrush is a pretty novel idea, successfully got me interested in tf2 again i must say, my interest was lagging a wee bit. The map has some graphically intensive parts that drop my fps somewhat.. oh well, still playable by my standards, so fine by me.

The achievements are "ehh", partly because I dont play medic, so they don't interest me much, though i did promise myself that when the solly, demo and engy ones come out i will sincerely try for them.

Anyway, about my laptop, i had to send it in for servicing. now the entire keyboard is shinnnnnny new, but my only complaint is that the spacebar has to be really pressed, it doesnt type a space if you tap it lightly like my previous k/b. I suppose it will grow better with age.. maybe.

Oh well, off i go to watch the latest zero punctuation before bed then. Whoring more achievements tomorrow, need....REST.

Just finished reviewing Echochrome for my POGD blog. It's a pretty innovative game, go check it out if you own a PS3 or PSP. Now i am gloating over jeffrey whose pathetic system can't play the game ^^ It is really fun stuff.

Finally second week is over, so far, still so good. Jap spelling went pretty well i thought. so far no bobos in schoolwork yet, and i hope to maintain the "streak". =X

Anyway, i'm having my first Jap "spelling" tomorrow, just finished memorising the words... dunno if can make it... Try my best i suppose.. Right now can't put the words into any sentence at all.. but i'll learn soon enough i guess.

director came down to speak to us today, i put forth the complaint again that school starts too fuckin early at 8 am (i.e have to wake at 6 am for me). Edawanty looks and sounds more like a beeyotch than AC. *shrug* guess if i just stay out of her way she'll stay out of mine.. do not want paths to cross again...

Well, got another early day tomorrow.. gotta wake up at 6 as usual.. partly thank some of the discipline dragon boat hammered into me.. just cant go back to bed now once awake. xD Just wish it was more than that that would make me go back to the team..srsly need more excercise than just going to the gym. =\

First week of school's over.. dunno how i should feel about it, but so far everything's okay. For once i don't owe any work. Then again it's only the first week.. Must remain optimistic! :D

Well, i made my first post today for POGD, reviewing Assassin's Creed this week. Head on over to "Fiery Reviews..." located in blog links to have a read. It's my first "professional-like" review of a game, rather than just the rantings i do here.
*shrugs*

Anyway, I don't think i'll take up a CCA again, after 1st year dragon boat failed. XD Technically i'm still in DB, dont think they removed my name from the list. So if im suddenly struck with an insanity bout i might go back, wonder what my team mates would say if i suddenly turned up again. :P

For the first week we were simply slacking in lab sessions after we finished the rather easy tasks given to us. Today i made gabriel laugh insanely after i found some more video of the Crazy Clown. lol..

Oh yeah, JAP. Jap class wasn't that bad, learned quite alot on my first day. Ota Kenji's my teacher, also one of the teachers in NYP sakuran jap club.. he's been teaching jap for 18 years, so it's a relief that i've got someone with experience teaching me.

In other news, the promised TF2 updates should be arriving very soon, in a few day's time! Cos valve has just let loose a flood of update news to several gaming sites on the web, so i suppose the release is imminent. I'm betting on this weekend. But valve is notorious for having delays, so i might be horribly wrong. however these delays are Blizzard-type delays, not 3D Realms-type delays (DNF, you know im talking about you), so i'm expecting quality.

Anyway, off to shower now, and enjoy my weekend! :D

First day of school today... nothing much to say about it.. cept that we played some really weird, dumbed-down version of D&D. Didnt have much interest in it honestly...

We were asked to create yet ANOTHER blog for POGD, this time for reviewing games. I've already reviewed a few things on this blog anyway, so i guess it's become sort of a second nature for me. Just need to design some graphics for my game review. I'm aiming for industry standard reviews, so it'll be pretty comprehensive, comparable to those you may find on Gamespot. :P

Nothing else much today, cept that I tried Assassin's Creed on the school PC and it ran rather beautifully. Also i got 3DMark06 and i tested my laptop... gaining a score of 791 3DMarks. Abysmal, i know. Oh well, its a laptop.

Speaking of laptops, the school this year is selling HP and Acer lappies. no more Fujitsu, LOL.

Oh well, I doubt i have got anything else to write now, oh yeah, cept this: reviewing Assassin's Creed for the PC soon here, as soon as i can finish it anyway.

Lastly, i've been having a thought, if i should buy the Xbox 360 controller for windows.. hmm...

Crisis Core

As promised in my previous post, this one's gonna be about Crisis core: Final Fantasy 7.

The game really pleases any final fantasy fan out there. All the familiar characters you know like Cloud, Sephiroth and Aerith (Aeris) make a return. The game has also got some very nice prerendered cinematics that i can never get enough of. The engine graphics are also very nicely done. They are convincing enough and look fantastic.

The gameplay is superb, it tries something new for a final fantasy game on the psp. combat is real time, smooth and fluid. The EXP-less system is also interesting. The most outstanding point is the DMW. This takes control over limit breaks, which can be a wee bit annoying to the player that I do not have control of when i perform a limit break. It's all chance.

What else... oh yes. AUDIO. Many many familiar Final Fantasy themes make a reappearance in a new remixed form, and they complement the story well (like any Square Enix game does). In addition, some new themes have been composed for Crisis Core, which gives it a new musical flavor than its storyline predecessor, FFVII. though admittedly, the audio at that time was not able to be of such high standard.

The final point is the story. It's one heck of an awesome story, clocking in at about 15-20 hours of gameplay, with cinematics every now and then. The story is told through a mix of the in game graphics and prerendered animation. And as with every Square Enix game, the story is top notch.

Crisis Core is definitely a "must play" game for any psp owner out there.

KANE UNLEASHES HIS WRATH!

Okay i have pretty much neglected this blog, so here's some updates.

Kane's Wrath is finally in my hands after months of watching David Silverman and Raj Joshi wave it infront of my eyes on Battlecast Primetime. And i've completed the short, short campaign in about a day. (note: day = 24 hours) I probably could have finished it faster, I admit it is true, but i have a life to live too. xD

anyway, after i finished it, i FRAPS'd all the cinematics and uploaded the lot to Youtube. :D Bet EA aren't too happy if they knew, but then again why should i care, they probably are making more cash to add to their already huge stack of loot.

anyway, the game is okay, but one thing that really bit into me was the difficulty. Playing the final campaign mission on EASY. yes, easy, i am ashamed to admit it myself; but the thing was GODDAMNED difficult. In the end i ammased a huge scorpion, stealth, and flame tank army and threw in a few ten avatars and purifiers for luck, then i managed to win. the time pressure was really on in that mission, but thanks to a lucky fluke, the AI halted the countdown, and i could amass my huge army. ^_^ Then i rolled in and decimated them. :D

The cinematics and subfactions are really cool, the bring something new to the old vanilla factions. Plus Global conquest mode. now this is a really good point of the game. It's pretty hard to describe, but it lets you play on a global strategic focus and it's very immersive. lame description, i know.

I got a death adder with the game, and i would use it, if not for the fact that it has a stinkin big EA logo that lights up for all the world to see when i use it. Plus i already have my trusty lachesis. So it's staying exactly where it is now. In the box.

Lastly, this package included a beta key for RED ALERT 3 HOLY COW! :D I've immediately registered for it, and now have all my fingers crossed that EA won't ruin it. They said they're starting the beta program in summer, so it's not too far away! ^_^ Looking to rejoin my comrade generals back on the battlefield

EA Phail

EA Play, the event held yesterday and today at Marina Square is where i preordered my Kane's Wrath. The sellers obviously don't know the meaning of "Pre sell disc", as they told me i could only get said disc when the game ships on march 24th. I was really damn loooking forward to getting the dvd to watch the bloopers from the cinematic filming; Joe Kucan really is funny in these bloopers.

Oh well. There wasn't a free PC available to play KW with. they were all being used for the Crysis tournament, which singapore won. whee. some achievement. Do note that that was in massive sarcasm quotes.

In TF2 I started a new clan with a friend, Clan *waR.. Yes i love the clan tag. :D So now i'm a part of two clans. So if for some reason i leave r4, i'll fall back on *waR. as my clan. But i doubt it'll happen so soon. :D

Lastly, my headset. It's really too awesome i can't stop using it. :D it just feels right on my ears, and it's a real joy to frag with it. My laptop is starting to make a few funny noises from the hard drive though... better give it a rest; i've been torrenting non stop for quite a few days now.

I finally got my new headset today, pictured. It's the Steelseries Siberia Neckband Headset. It cost me quite abit to import it into SG but it was worth every cent.

It's a really cool looking set, that's bonus points i agree. It came around 11 plus in the morning while i was playing Half Life 2 and i gleefully opened it and tried it out in HL2.

Soundscape was wonderful. Can hear the bullets fly past me clearly as though there was someone really shooting at me. xD It tested great in TF2 as well. Could hear every footstep and shot clearly and the directional sound it offers is damn spot on.

The retractable microphone is cool also. It can slide into the headset so that it can be worn around outside as an pair for MP3s, but i already have a pair of street headphones so this will remain only for use at home or at lan events. The sound it picks up is quite clear, according to some people i asked in TF2. It doesn't pick up alot of interference from my fan either, so thats a neat thing. Voice and only voice is picked up which is really cool.

Comfort wise, it may not be suitable for everyone, since it's a neckband headset, but I like the feel and it is REALLY light, not what i'd expected at all. So it doesnt presure my ears at all. I have bee nwearing it since 7.45 pm until now when im typing and publishing this i still have it on and it doesn't bother me at all. It stays on when i make sudden movements so thats a plus point also.

Nothing really bad to say about it, it's worth every cent i paid for it. I now happily add it to my collection of gaming peripherals alongside my Lachesis and Destructor.

Ok that was a product review, but i HAD to put my thoughts about it somewhere. hahahahaah.

By the way, i'm gonna be at the EA Play event this saturday around 1 pm or so. Getting my hands dirty with Kane's Wrath there, so hope to see you! :D (if anyone reads this blog that is)

Gmod is just so dang fun. I've been neglecting TF2 for a few days now that Louis got his gmod and we can construct stuff (or kill each other) on a gmod server together.

In the last three days i've built cars, teleporters, houses and war machines. :D

Thanks to the Stargate mod for Garry's Mod, I've been able to make alot of neat stuff for my vehicles (and war machines) and excellent defenses for forts. :P It also has this neat drone launcher that tracks and kills other players. sitting in one of my war machines and flying around (rather uncontrollably i might add) is really dang fun, and trying to shoot people with the onboard turret is neat as well.

Louis also made a companion cube that follows the nearest player to it. It's funny to see actually, cos you get a WCC floating around like some lost soul looking for love from a new owner (and not to mention being kept away from the Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incinerator).

Well i'm off to go see what else i can make with Gmod. This brings a whole new definition to sandbox physics gameplay. :D

New things

The destructor mousepad handles like a dream. I find myself sniping way better on this surface. The mouse just simply tracks better on the destructor. This is a truly good buy, and it comes in a nice case too. gotta love that. :D

God of War: Chains of Olympus then. It's the most graphically demanding game i've seen yet for the PSP and it LAGS my portable console occasionally while it streams its fat, beautiful self into RAM. yes. it's HUGE. 1.2 Gb huge. but incredibly beautiful. It uses its engine to pump out amazing graphics at a good framerate. Respect.

Gameplay wise, it's a hack and slash game, with some really gory fight scenes, but that doesn't bother me so much, in fact, the lack of gory fights detracts from a game like God of War in my opinion. It throws an occasional puzzle into the mix here and there and it blends perfectly. Boss fights are plenty, and all of them (that i've played so far) are satisfying to complete. Finding hidden stuff is wonderful also.

I'd give it my unqualified recommendation to anyone who has a PSP. This is the most fun you'll have on your portable, at least until Crisis Core outs.

ZOMBIESSS. Recently discovered a new mod for HL2: Zombie Panic: Source. It's very much like the upcoming game Left 4 Dead by Valve, and it's fun to be able to shamble around as a zombie and eat everyone's brains out. You can also hunt in the dark and scare the shit out of people when you go "boo" from around a corner. Better in mobs. xD

So, after a few days of pestering, Vpost finally processed my order invoice. I sent in on friday, and had to keep bugging them for the rest of the days until today. Then today they called and told me they didn't recieve it. seriously, how can this be? Apparently Fedex, reliable as always, delivered my package to their US side yesterday, right on time, but there wasn't an invoice to match it to. =___= damn singaporean reliability.

Anyway, in other news, Dawn of War: Soulstorm came out in the states yesterday and i'm itching to get my hands on it, if not just to hear "FOR THE EMPEROR" yelled out so i can laugh in amusement as my forces roll over them and harvest their very souls. Pleasing thought.

Also, Kratos's first adventure on the PSP has made it into my torrent list, a whopping 1.12 gb file, which isn't surprising as seeing from the demo that the graphics look leet enough to hang my psp for a few seconds while it caches the stuff. Or maybe I just play too fast for it to load its fat ass into RAM. whatever.

Joining Kratos is Altair, making his run on my torrents in Assassin's Creed PC, which i hope won't melt my gpu. But heck, if my laptop can handle Crysis, i tell AC: BRING IT ON. Looking forward to assasinating random people i don't care about in a imaginary Third Crusade world.

Lastly, MGS4. Apparently 50 gb space on a Blu ray disc for the PS3 isn't enough. O.o What kind of things could they stuff into it that 50 gigs isnt enough? That's amazing it is.

Oh well, I'm off to look for a soulstorm torrent, and I hope Vpost don't mess up my order further as i seriously need a headset, and this one is pretty expensive.

End of Nightmare

Finally that godforsaken thing that was the three weeks project is fianlly over and i can return to my normal life i.e. Team Fortress 2.

And now I'd like to thank those ppl that contributed to my shinyy new razer Lachesis mouse for ur monetary contributions, srsly, i thank you for it. ^_^

I got used to the mouse in Windows easily, but when i fired up TF2 to get going, i found my aim being off very terribly. Right now i'm quite comfortable with the mouse and i do notice it giving me a substantial advantage to my game i.e. killing better and faster. :D

Anyway, i've just learned on friday that my first ever online order from amazon.com has finally shipped out and i admit i'm rather excited for the product's arrival. Here's what i ordered:

Yeah, i figured that i seriously need a better headset to communicate with my clan of killers, so this is what i got. I felt it's pretty slick so i put the other half of my birthday money into it. :D Hope it's as good as what forums and reviews say.

Ah well, it's march now and we are less than a month away from C&C3: Kane's Wrath! Just found out from kai xiang on wednesday (i think) that EA SG has got some promo where you can get a razer deathadder with KW @ a price of $89. It's quite a sweet deal, and i'm gonna go for it. BUT, the damn EA logo on the mouse is gonna prevent me from using it in public, so i'm just gonna keep it in a corner and deal with it later (Portal pun referenced). The latest ep of Battlecast Primetime just came out today and I've watched it and felt that the Scrin Hexapod is like the weakest out of all 3 epic units so far. Oh well, judgment reserved until the game is out I say.

okay okay, i know i haven't posted in a very long time, but here goes.

Yesterday (22nd) was my birthday, and i'm 18 now. *whee*

I Hate Norton Antivirus

I watched Gabe play his first pick up game (PUG) tonight along with the rest of us experienced clan puggers. He didn't do that bad. I think. xD

On another hand, my TF2 skills have improved leaps and bounds. Very pleased with the progress my training has afforded me. ^_^

The real reason for this post is not to love tf2 again, but to say how goddamn #@%$#%& Norton Antivirus minimised my tf2 game window to tell me something about its self-centered self. Something about needing to update. I mean, couldnt it wait while i was running a seperate application? jeez. Bastards at norton really love screwing with ppl.

When i maxmised the game again, I was already gibbed. Thank you norton, for adding an extra death on my record that does not belong there. Thank you. Sincerely, truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Do note that the previous sentences were also tagged with massive sarcasm quotes.

So, i changed my name to "Norton Antivirus" then walked out into the firefight and got myself killed over and over again. Pure savage pleasure at getting gibbed. Then i changed to "Microsoft" and repeated.

Well it wasn't entirely bad, as in the last few minutes of the game when everyone was agonising for the game to end, I pulled of a mass spy sap and then an extremely heroic scout run with the intel out of red's base in well that I still can't quite believe i managed to pull off.

The Return

I'm back from Malaysia! Had a ton of fun over there, including one day of straight suntanning @ sunway lagoon. :D I'm quite brown now. Or at least browner than I was last time. Thx to my suntan oil. :P

Anyway, for the rest of the trip, I went to places i've mostly been before, like the firefly sanctuary which i went a few years previously on my sec school's Malaysia excursion. It's very calming to see the fireflies twinkling in the trees in sync like some christmas light display. I lost no time making the joke that they really did put christmas lights in the trees, and cos it's so dark, you couldn't see it. xD But they are real fireflies, cos i caught one! :D I kinda overcame my fear of bugs when i held the beautiful glowing thing in my hand. well, maybe not so overcome. xD

Another day, I taught my cousin how to bowl. xD She played not bad for a first timer, and after that night at the bowling alley, she's all addicted to bowling. xD

About the hotels we stayed in, the first one in Klang was crap. didn't have a good room or breakfast buffet. =X But the second one was great, cos it's Eastin hotel in Petaling jaya. :)

Didn't bump into Kai Xiang in Melacca, although i think he was staying there at the time. xD

Got back home yesterday night at about 11 plus. Had a really good trip and now im sore and achy all over. So i'm feeling sian. very sian right now.

So i think i'm gonna go sleep. Btw, sins of a solar empire isn't that bad, but it has no story-driven campaign! (*shock and horror*). Gonna demo it to the ppl @ sch tmr. :D

I was wrong. This is my last post before i go to Malaysia. Now feeling goddamned sleepy as it's like 5.10 AM on a thursday morning. I just woke up at 5. =X So blehddy early.. But i guess it's to beat the famous Malaysia causeway jams, so almost no complaints here...

Now the house filled with the acrid smell of burnt water, Mum didnt put enoough water to steam something and the thing BURRRRRNT. ye gawds. Hahax.

Anyway, i'm leaving the house at 5.30, so just gona go run over some last minute preparations before i go.

I just found a torrent for Sins of a Solar Empire, the epic large scale real time strategy game from Ironclad games. The game looks really good. (note to developers: many many lasers can really turn me on for a game. :P) But the gameplay demos i've watched seem really boring... else i'd spend some cash and buy it. xD So, thank god there's torrents.

Well I'm gonna have to cut short this post, i'm leaving now for the gym before my will dictates otherwise. xD Later prolly gonna sign in to TF2 and play a few games before I leave, and ohmigosh haven't packed my luggage yet. xD See ya when i return from my holiday! :D

Steam gets me steaming

Bleargh, Steam messing up again once more.. couldn't sign in offline to play at school.. ended up walking some distance away into some hdb flats to let Steam go online by leeching wireless... gotta love those fools that dun secure their network.. they're lifesavers.. :D

Then when Steam finally could launch my TF2, it was SO LAG! the ping was crazy for a LAN game: 60+! Fucktard lah... now at home gonna make sure steam properly shut down first and test offline play before i leave for school. goddamit.

Ahh well, its a neccesary evil if i wanna play all the good stuff from Valve. Just wish that the neccesary evil wasn't so.. well, evil. :P Had quite abit of fun today anyway, so it wasn't all bad.

Thursday I'm leaving SG to go Malaysia TRULLLY ASIAAAAA *slapped* for family vacation during Chinese new year.. dunno if i can report on this blog about my adventures... Keep ya posted! :D

Finally the weekend is here! I barely managed to survive my first year in poly.. but here I am now! :D The first year is behind me, and I can finally rest from all the work and opression in school. happy days can finally be here again!

After all that happiness, i'm starting to take up server administration for Team Fortress 2.. Studying the dedicated server's functionalities and ingame use through RCON. Soon i'll be able to admin my own servers.. :D I already know some basics like mp_ as i been using it to admin lan server in school games. =X Anyway, this post shall be short and end here, can't think what else to write as i'm itching to go to tf2 for my holidays celebration killings. :D

Finally the nightmare is almost over. After the maths test tomorrow, which i'm not sure if i can pass.. THE GODDAMN first year will be OVER!!!! Plus they *may* show a new Avatar episode this weekend on USA's Nickelodeon!! wheee!!

The title for this post is inspired by a song i really got addicted to in the past few days. It's "So Close" by Jon McLaughlin, featured in the movie "Enchanted". It's got a really nice melody to it and it's nice to listen to with a loved one... Or when you're feeling down.. haha... xD Guess I'm not too good at describing songs after all.. :P But it's nice, hope you do get a chance to listen to it someday.

Bleargh... Saw some Halo 3 xbox 360 sets at amk hub gameshop yesterday.... was soooooo tempted to buy.. O.o Paid for half of Gabe's Orange Box, I'm such a saint. XD

now i've finished my CG and i didnt compile it in MSVS2005, but 2008. Give her some trouble. :P
Anyway, she came and told us off for playing Portal in class. I guess she's just jealous. :D

Now left some stuff to type for data and some final debugs, then the assignment nightmare will be over. Then just left the final hurdle of the maths test and freeeeeedom.

Finally finished my CG project, Data is almost done too, THANK GOD.

I don't care if i get just a pass, it's just so i can be done with this horrible year. Year 2 really got to work harder.. so far 2008 doesn't have a slew of games announced, so got no excuse not to work hard i guess. =X

Today played some 1v1 TF2 LAN at school. bleddy fun to shred those noobz into pieces... haha but i guess this is bully lah.. since i'm so much more experienced. =X Tomorrow maybe play again.. it's a good stress reliever, laughed alot.. :D

So now.. just watching some youtube before bed.. *yawnz*

So right now I'm figuring out how I am going to pass CG with just a skybox as a handup. The last week of school is really a bitch. Can't wait for it to be over then i can say goodbye to this horrible school and course for two months.

I'm thinking of importing a plane model and texturing it, then retexture the skybox to make it cloudy cloudy. Then add fog. should be enough for a pass hopefully...

Once that's done i need to worry about data structs.. me and gabe haven't got started on it yet... arrrrgh....

Now reading and doing maths to prepare for friday's test.. I'll be a zombie by the weekend.. zzzz

On another note, I've been wondering if i should get an ipod touch or a creative zen. I'm tired of bringing around my psp as my mp3 player.. so.. hm.. brain smoking over which to buy..

I just discovered the Macworld 2008 keynote address at the Apple site, it's really amazing to watch Steve Jobs unveil the new Apple products. Or maybe I'm just an Apple fanatic. Either way, it's fantastic. Watch it here. You'll need QuickTime to play it though.

CG Test rantings

So yesterday night i had my Computer Graphics (CG) test....

The test described in one word is: nonsense.

The last question again she repeated some stupid thing about what was inside the matrix stack.. I don't know WHAT to write!! is the ans a number? A matrix? a sentence? WHAT?!?!

I hate that question.... ZZZ

otherwise the rest was pretty much giveawaymarks.com.
But i dunno.. i probably messed up that 30% in that lame question.. dunno if can even PASS.

On a brighter note, i finally completed my snake project for ACPP.. just one prob.. it can't grow longer... working on it now..

But at least it's one down.. 2 more projects to go... CG and data.. =__=

TF2 clan + horrible school

Some of my pals from tf2 asked me to join clan r4, so I did.

The clan now stands at 4 members and we're looking for more. Me, i'm just joining the clan for the sake of being in one. ebil. i.e. if other better clans want to catch me to go over, I will defect. =X

Last half of the school year is horrible.. this week got the longest day ever.. 10 am- 8 pm.. bitch of a teacher set the acpp test at 6 pm.. no life if he can stay so late to supervise the bloody test. Plus week 15 must hand up a ton of shit that i haven't even started on. =X on top of all this im still got to go gym regularly or will blow up more..xD
